Do you want to release music on Aurora Records?
Submit project proposals by e-mail to inger@aurorarecords.no. The email should contain a description of:

-
Audio files describing the project. It can be recordings from rehearsals, concerts or other recordings that give an impression of artistic direction.
-
Progress plan
-
Description of the financial situation: which expenditure items must be covered/already covered, how much funding has been obtained as of today's date, etc.
Aurora Records has an artistic council consisting of the project managers and two external members who sit on the council for a term of years. As of 2024, these members are the composers Tine Sure Lange and Nils Henrik Asheim.
-
There is an ongoing application deadline. The Council meets approximately once a quarter to discuss submitted proposals.
-
When the council assesses projects, it looks for uniqueness in the artistic profile and curation of the album repertoire. Aurora wants to represent a diversity of aesthetic trends.
-
If the council gives a commitment to a project, the project managers will make contact and arrange an initial meeting for a status update and to draw up a progress plan.
What you can expect:
-
Funding must be provided by the performer/composer through public support schemes or own funds. Aurora Records has no production assets, but is helpful with agreements of intent and guidance in the application process.
-
Because Aurora does not enter into publishing projects with its own funds, license agreements are usually agreed in which the performer/composer is the master owner.
-
Aurora coordinates between external suppliers such as sound technicians, designers, printers and distributors. The performer/composer must expect to be an active initiator and project manager in his own publishing project.
-
Aurora's music is distributed digitally via The Orchard and physically via Musikkoperatorene, Proper Music UK and Galileo Music.
-
Aurora contributes with a plan for the launch of the publication, newsletter distribution, social media and contact with the press.
